Happy New Year (a little bit late)! Folks have been talking up Grittie in the Webcartoonists Choice Awards discussion. I went back and looked at the very first, non-animated one when someone provided a link to it. Are the other non-animated ones still around to read? To compare with the new ones? (If you've already mentioned that, I'll blame my fogginess on being up all night... work work work, never done.)

Hurrah! You're here! So am I! But you know that already! Er... now what do we do here? Should we organise a committee to look into it? I never did figure out MySpace. Maybe we should start a band. I think that's a MySpace requirement. I play a mean miniature accordion.

Hi there! A belated thank you for stopping by SPQR Blues. I'm on a holiday-induced hiatus at the moment, but I hope you'll keep checking back. Once I get into the swing of things again, I have miles and miles of story planned. And: Thank you again. I tend to grovel sloppily whenever I get a new reader.... I just love finding new readers....

I have to agree with "shiny." The attention to detail in Lords of Death and Life is inspiring me to do more with the scenery and cityscapes in my own comic as I wade into the next chapter (back to Herculaneum and Pompeii). Also, I think maybe I should skip that Mel Gibson movie and just read your comic instead :)

Hi there! I was going through the Members List and your comic caught my eye. The style of the art got my attention, and the dialogue in the latest comic ("And in my own defense...") completely hooked me. And I have to admit to having a weakness for heroes with floofy dark hair :) I'm looking forward to reading through the rest of the comic.

It's nice to see you here in this new wilderness. I suppose we're all supposed to start building cabins, planting crops, and creating a civilisation. Earlier today I discovered fire and almost invented the wheel, so that's a start.

I feel like we're on opposite ends of the spectrum--me with the pen and the ink and the pieces of paper, and you converting the comic into fully developed productions. I hope this new place to network will bring us both some new readers :)
