[in ref to comment] Well, Lulu is okay for anyone self-publishing their own work, though I think it's better for graphic novels than short comics b/c of the binding fee. It's just disappointing to see "comic companies" using a vanity press. I mean, as a creator, why would I (anyone) want to go through your company/organization if you're just using Lulu, which I could do myself? Unless you have a really good deal going somehow that's amazingly beneficial to the artists, I don't see a reason for the middleman. If you have some super business plan I don't know about, then kudos.

Yes - but it's your philosophy of "if it's not something we'd pay for, it's not something we'll publish" that impresses me most.
That's exactly the approach I've tried to adopt and the message I've been trying to get other people to understand for ages!
