I'm formerly the Manager, Financial Analysis and Budgets at DC Comics, which are fancy words for numbers cruncher. I worked there a little over 5 years before leaving in October 2008.

I've previously worked as assistant to a comic book artist [no name dropping here] and as an editorial assistant at Milestone Media. Between then and my current job, I've been on the periphery of the comic book industry --- trying to break-in as a writer, though I'm a decent artist.

While as a DC Comics employee, I could not write or draw for my company and I can't work for another comic book company. I might be able to work as an "independent" but that's really an unexplored territory which no one at DC has ventured into.

I still write and draw [on an irregular basis] --- more as a way to flex my creative muscles than anything else.

"Dazzler: Stardom"

Dazzler: Stardom was a spec mini-series I wrote for Marvel's MAX line for Mark Texeira. The hook was a cross-over "photo spread" of Alison Blaire/Dazzler with a mens' magazine [i.e. Maxim, FHM, or maybe even Playboy].

Idea of the Day: In a move to bolster ratings, the CW Network has the stars of their various shows guest-star in other shows during sweeps...thereby leading to Kirsten Bell [of "Veronica Mars"] being cast as the Black Canary on "Smallville". Kirsten Bell + fishnets = ratings winner among young adult males.

Last year at a party at the comic book store Rocketship [in Brooklyn], I made up the rumor that Michelle Williams had been cast as Harley Quinn in the Batman sequel. I had a few people on the hook for several minutes with that one. Very believable considering that they just announced her husband Heath Ledger was cast as the Joker.
