Well, cool. Yea... I guess we were a little ahead of our time. It's an internet sorta thing.

I wish we coulda done a bunch more. I had plotted it out through about 20 issues, plus a set of 4 or so zero issues (WildStar Sky Zero Zero)... but we were losing $ fast because the industry was collapsing... too bad.

but thanx again, sir,

One of your "Inking Heroes???" Dude... you need to lay off the hard stuff, bud! (kidding).

Thanx a bunch. It’s always nice to hear that someone actually paid attention to the inker... these days with all the over-coloring I can't even see the inker.

best dishes and good luck in the funny books!

But, I like the hard stuff. :)

Al, your inking on Fantastic Four, Justice League, and Superman/Savage Dragon was amazing!

I’ve always felt that inkers were often overlooked… even more so now-a-days.

Best wishes to you, too, Al! :)

[ Posted by al_gordon on Jan 23rd, 2007 6:50 PM ]...

Thanx for the compliments!

And I agree... Inkers have always been overlooked... even by guys who I figured were smarter than that (like Kevin Smith... although... maybe he was trying to be funny. I know I laughed... even after I started getting approached at conventions with the same rhetoric).

Since I was 10, I knew why Kirby looked better when Sinnot Inked him rather than other less interesting inkers... and I always figured if anyone was paying attention, that they should notice too.

Years later I found out that it's the letterers that were cleaning up - and I don't mean the borders with a kneaded eraser. They get more for their time than any other contingent of comic book making (except bad writers).

Thanx again,
~albabe

I can't figure why your Hobbes Icon moves... yet mine... is so still.. so motionless... so sad in it's inability to express itself in a moving fashion... sigh...

I haven't seen many (if any) animated Calvin icons. Sorry :)

[ Posted by al_gordon on Jan 19th, 2007 9:52 PM ]...

NoNoNoNoNoNoooooo... Not what I meant... Mine does move. Really. It's a great one where Calvin's head blows up... but for some reason it doesn't move where I posted it here! I feel so inept... inadequate... gasp<

Thanks Al!

Just mixing it up a bit and this story seemed to need that kind of look.

I've met Dave, he's a nice guy and I like his work, so I don't mind the comparision!

[ Posted by al_gordon on Jan 14th, 2007 2:35 PM ]...

Dave's a very nice chap... I haven't seem him in a year or two, but whenever I do, he always has something funny and/or intellegent to say.

Thanks, Al.

I do reviews on the Yahoo Silver Age Reviews group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SilverAgeR
eviews/ and just reviewed Blackhawk #147.

I'll be updating my icon to whatever book I'll be reviewing next.

Feel free to check out the site.

Thanks for the add.

I especially enjoyed your work on JLI and Fantastic Four, by the way, and thanks for signing some of my books at Super-Con last year.

I also wondered if this was the lovely Lois I recall from the conventions - and likewise, Tom's better half.

But even if it wasn't I'm ALWAYS happy to deal in "cat talk".

Hey Goth Hippie Bwah!

Thanx for the comment. I just discovered this place a few hours ago. As for "brushin'": Not doing too much these days (no one really calls... sigh... I do miss it). Moderating a WorkShop here in SF Ca.... and doing lotsa Writing... hopefully more Voice-Over stuff too... and more-hopefully, stuff that pays actual money, as opposed to food stamps and promises.

Be tall and lean and cool, kiddo,
