Hello! My name is Alena and I'm a comicholic. I've been reading comics all my life, thanks to my father and his excellent collection of Silver Age stuff. I started off with Archie and Uncle Scrooge (Dan DeCarlo, Carl Barks, and Don Rosa are gods!), but when I started reading the Legion of Super-Heroes archives back in middle school, the LSH took first place in my heart. Although I consider the LSH to be my favorite comic ever, the truth is that I haven't read the full history. I started with the Archives, and have been collecting them ever since, but those only go up to the mid-70s or so. I have a full run of Legionnaires, the TPB of the Great Darkness Saga, and every issue of the current Waid/Kitson series... everything else is a giant hole! I hope the powers that be at DC will put out more Archives soon... until then, I'll continue to try to fill the gaps in my collection so I can read the famed Levitz series, the 5YL stories, and so much other great stuff. Some classic comics I love include Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, the All-Star Squadron, Amethyst, Justice League International, Danger Girl and Camelot 3000. Current stuff I read- LSH (of course), JSA, Supergirl (who will always be one of my favorite characters, no matter what incarnation), Teen Titans, Birds of Prey, Checkmate, and Runaways. I also love Fables!! As for my non-comic interests... I'm an award-winning kickballer and a flipcup champion! I just finished up ice skating lessons and will be learning how to SCUBA in January. I signed up for a 10 mile race in April, so I'm training for that, yikes!! Oh yeah, and I'm a moderator at www.comicbloc.com, one of the best sites for comics commentary and discussion on the internet! P.S. I overuse exclamation points. I blame the coffee.

Hawaii was great. Thanks for asking. Only had three days there though. So many things to do and I ended up stuck in a line up for a U2 show for one full day...oh well it was a blast catching up with old friends... |
