I have two new series currently ongoing:

Gingerbread Houses, by Danner & Grug
The first is Gingerbread Houses, a new story illustrated by Edward J. Grug III, which is appearing regularly on ModernTales.com. Grug and I have collaborated before, on Bring Your Daughter to Work Day, and had such a blast that we just had to get together again to do something even bigger! Gingerbread Houses is a 74 page novella retelling the story of Hansel and Gretel, while asking the question: How do you live happily ever after with parents who have already tried to murder you? Updates every Thursday.

Simpleton: A Writer's Sketchbook, by Alexander Danner
My second series is Simpleton: A Writer’s Sketchbook. As you might guess from the subtitle, this series isn’t a consistent narrative, but a repository of my silliest and stupidest ideas, experiments, and indulgences. If you were a fan of my old Panel One experiment, you might like this one too. And if you hated Panel One…well, this one’s really pretty different from that, so maybe you’ll find something you like here.

The updates have no consistent format–hell, not all of them even have pictures–sometimes using photography, sometimes vector drawings, sometimes art of I’ve stolen from Neal Von Flue. Neal has been very generous in indulging me. Regardless of the form, I’m no artist, so this series is all about problem solving. Only two strips up so far, but plenty in the buffer. Updates Mondays, most Wednesdays, and occasional other days if I feel like it. Like I said, it’s a sketchbook, so — no rules.
