Header: Apocryphal Tales
Bulletin: In the 1960s, a government think tank did a study to test the old adage which says that if you put a thousand monkeys in front of a thousand typewriters they will eventually produce the works of Shakespeare.

The researchers were unable to procure a thousand monkeys, so they put 32 monkeys in a room with 32 typewriters and prepared for a long wait.

In a surprisingly short amount of time, the triumphant monkey was taken from the room and returned to the wild. Nineteen of the monkeys were treated and released and the bloody bits of typewriter were junked.

The other 12 monkeys were buried in a shallow unmarked grave just outside Washington DC.

All of which proves the commonly held belief that writers are a temperamental lot who can't get along with anyone.
