Originally a collector of Marvel titles from the X-universe, I segued into DC when I discovered the various Batman and Superman animated series from the 1990s. I never became a serious collector, however, usually focusing on issues that contained particularly favored characters, although I do have virtually all of Catwoman from issues 1-65 from the Balent era (up until the mayoral election debacle).

While I also watched the Justice League series, my interest in that show was limited to the first two seasons, as I felt the following years were substantially inferior. I also had little interest in most other shows of that time, such as Batman Beyond or Teen Titans.

By this time, however, I had discovered fan fiction as both writer and reader. For almost five years now I have been writing fanfics based on the overall DC animated universe, including B:TAS, S:TAS, and JL, although I am more than willing to introduce elements from the comics where it suits me. These stories almost always have a femslash element, although they are usually far outnumbered by heterosexual pairings.

My Fanfiction.net profile

My favorite pairing has remained Poison Ivy/Harley Quinn from the very beginning. I started originally because stories about them were extremely hard to find. Quinn was my favorite character from B:TAS, and over the course of my writing I've become passionately fond of her green-skinned friend. While I'll purchase almost any issue containing Pammy, her recent depiction in Gotham Knights and OYL has contributed to my disenchantment with DC.

I am also a firm believer in the Batman/Catwoman pairing, thanks in part to Chris Dee, whose own writing is better than anything else I've encountered on the Internet. Much as is the case with Pammy, however, several years of lousy Catwoman issues under Brubaker's watch has soured me on the company at large.

(Besides Ivy, Harley, and Selina, favorite characters of mine include Power Girl, Black Canary, and Scandal Savage.)

Today the only title I currently collect is the Villains United/Secret Six series, although with that coming to a close shortly, it looks like DC and I are done.

I remain a reader and writer of good DC fan fiction. It's about all I have left.

My currently ongoing DC fanfic, a spinoff from Chris Dee's Cat-Tales

Sincerely, Allaine

P.S. Other interests I have include Disney's Gargoyles and Kim Possible, Girl Genius, and various webcomics.
