Ancient
Well, it's been sometime since we've posted anything new. Hopefully that will change in a few weeks. Sean and i are getting ready to add about 4 to 6 more pages to issue one and get it reprinted - the "directors cut" if you will. We're also adding a bit of prelude to the story so you know what happened before issue one and what will be coming up. So enjoy the reading and as the art comes in for the new pages, we'll be posting!
Cheers!
The Ancients – Issue 1 Prelude
Narrator: For thousands of years, a race of people called the Ancients defended and protected time as we know it. They fought to maintain the events of the Ultimate Continuum.
However, there were those that wished to alter the Ultimate Continuum to serve there selfish desires of power and control.
One by one, key events were altered and the Ultimate Continuum began to shift to a different convergence point.
The Ancients fought back. Lead by Exis Electrum, an elite group of Ancients launched an assault on Sagis and his followers. Sagis, knowing his end was near, retreated into the walls of his castle. Leaving the Ancient Rade in command, she followed him.
As Rade’s strike team destroyed the followers of Sagis, he and his student Akar trailed Exis into the castle. They arrived in time to see Exis Electrum kill Sagis and absorb his power. Her betrayal was clear. Rade and Akar retreated.
The Ancients have a new threat – a former comrade, a friend.
Times passed and Exis continued to alter events. The Ultimate Continuum continued to shift. The Ancients continued to fight back but they grew weaker and weaker against her powers. Finally, in her boldest attack ever, Exis attacked the Ancients themselves. A horrible massacre took place. Both sides suffered heavy casualties.
When the dust settled, all that were left was Exis and her sister and Rade and his student. As Exis prepared to deliver the deathblow, Rade and Akar made one last time slip….

So far the stuff I have in the Genesis series are all independant drawings that I did over a considerable span of time. Eventually it crossed my mind to illustrate the Genesis creation account since its the basis for pretty much all the original work that I do, so I took all those drawings and reformatted them, breaking some of them into smaller pieces. The drawing of God was based on the description in the first chapter of Ezekiel. Eventually I'm going to start drawing some stuff specifically for the Genesis gallery, it's just taht time is limited and I'm very slow. |

Hi !
Thanks for the add !
I'm still pondering your "What's a hero" question... When you think about it, a hero is somebody who willingly acts in a way that seems beyond the reach of those he (or she) helps. The important point is he has to do it willingly, even if he's not taking any credit for it.
As an example, let's say Bob have to fight his way out of a horde of zombies to save himself he's not a hero: he's just trying to survive. If he's safe to begin with but jump in to help then he's a hero, since he willingly puts himself at risk to help. If Jack pushes Bob in so he'll help then he'll just be trying to survive while rethinking his friendship, but he won't be a hero.
A character needs to be faced with a task that seems nearly impossible in the eye of those he helps. Sometimes the hero will risk his own safety or make a sacrifice to achieve his goal but he doesn't always have to.
I'll keep pondering and see what else I can come up with.
Cheers Benoit |
