| Bulletin: | Atomic Pop Art Entertainment announces the it has defied the odds that seem to be facing the small press community and send the first issue of The Supremacy into print as of March 27th. The company not only very excited about the project itself but very happy that all of their hard work, combined with the hard work from Hard Way Studios, that they were able to proceed into the printing process. This may not sound like very much of a feat, but in the state of our current economic situation and the state of the small press publishing community, this is a very big step for their company. Atomic Pop Art Entertainment set many goals for themselves that had to be met to even get to the point of printing, and they met each and everyone of those goals and here they are with a comic book that will be hitting the shelves in May of 2009 as scheduled. “We had everything stacked against us, not only being small press but decided to cut the middle man out completely and distribute our products on our own so we set out to create a competitive direct sales package that would help retailers as well as insure that we are able to get our product out to the consumer” said APA President, Tracy Duty. They are confident in what they put together and set out on a long and hard campaign. Not to say that they were not confronted with some negative responses, but there was also a lot of positive feedback that helped them modify their direct sales package. “There was a lot of phone calling and emailing to the point that our fingers didn't want to work anymore but everything we did insured that this awesome product” said President of APA, Tracy Duty. The Supremacy will now, without any delay, see the light of day. It's hard to know where the future of this industry will lead us, and with the numbers of small press and even some mainstream titles being canceled due to low numbers of sales during the solicitation process, they can honestly insure that their products are not being canceled! You are getting what you are asking for every time all of the time. With such a high number of comics and companies struggling to keep their books in print, it is very hard to keep a place in this market. With a larger number of titles meeting this same fate that we don’t even know about such high benchmarks set forth by some distribution companies, is the main reason we decided to do it our self. Succeed or fail they did it the APA way, and at this time it looks like they are succeeding. |
