Looking back on my life, it’s amazing to me how obvious it was that I’d be making comics when I grew up, and yet I never realized it. I hadn’t even begun to consider it until midway through high school, when I was first introduced to Elf Quest, my first true graphic novel love (Wendi Pini is my hero!). Before that I had plenty of comics, mostly Spider Man and Star Wars, I loved to draw, I loved to write, I loved making up stories. When I was little I even had a sketchbook which I titled “My Cartoon Book” though it was essentially just little comic strips I made up. My earliest character (that I can remember) was Super Dog. Pretty generic, yes, but I think his birth marked the entrance to the path I was destined to follow for the rest of my life.
