Welcome. My name is Aric Hutfles. I'm a penciller and storyteller. Please take a look at my portfolio where I have select pieces for your enjoyment.

I have a degree in Multimedia from the Art Institute of Atlanta where I spent many long hours chained to a computer. I decided I didn't want to spend my life staring at a screen and switched to something that required minimal computer time (at least at this point).

You will notice a lot of Sci-fi in my work. Sci-fi is my favorite genre and I think of comics as just another medium where it appears. I enjoy sci-fi in all mediums equally; movies, TV, novels, comics, or anything else.

Check out my deviantART site, aricosaur.deviantart.com.

Second Round Entry: Verity

Worked from a brief, as follows:
Verity has been well-schooled in the existence of mysterious alien invaders, living and operating amongst us disguised as local vehicles and technology. But will she be able to defend her friends HOUND and JETFIRE, in Washington DC, from other members of her species who just don't understand? Will her strong fiesty spirit help her make a difference or just make matters worse?

Verity must be the focus of this cover, with Hound and Jetfire being support characters. You are free to choose which mode to display Hound and Jetfire in. The reader must also be able to identify the location. This story is set in IDW continuity, so designs should suit this.

First Round Entry: Hoist

Worked from a basic brief, as follows:
The cover you are to prepare is for the faux comic Spotlight: Hoist. Hoist 's robot form is to be the main focus of the cover, with his alt mode as an optional inclusion. Also, Hubcap and Rampage, in either or both modes, must feature on the cover. The setting for the cover is a mountainous forest region on Earth.

Hey there,

I love your artwork, I think the Obi-Wan vs General Grievous piece is awesome! I also love the Teyla warrior piece which also looks fantastic in colour. The Transformers covers look amazing too!
