Ashen15
Oh, yeah. About me. I'm currently living the "quarter life crisis" that is afflicting people of my generation around this age (I got married and bought a house at 20, and have now realized I need my play time). I'm at Junior standing in my Psych. degree, but I hate UW Madison with a fierce passion and no one can make me go back! I have pets rather than children (9 of them). Somehow I became a gamer. I love Warren Ellis's work. I hate superheros. I snowboard, play airsoft, read, and expensive coffee is the only thing I need for sustenance. RE: An American's Responsibility Right on! It's really hard to get some folks motivated. I've tried all kinds of things to get my own friends interested in the vital systems of democracy, including "voting pie". It's hard for people to realize that, whether they see it or not, politics is only slightly less important than your own biological vital systems. Law, order, peace, freedom, and a social contract all help to keep us alive from one hour to the next. And as you point out, most of the viewing, interested, public has little knowledge about what these candidates for high office will really strive for. Reform in campaign structure, the election process, and reform in the media that covers the whole mess is crucial. I've pasted your message on to some of my e-mails to my people, so it doesn't look like an attachment or bulk e-mail. Maybe they'll glom on to it :) Cheers, -Micah |

Thanks for the ADD. How expensive is this coffee we're talking about, you're not one of those Nescafe sippers that lord it over the rest of us...? Good luck with the psych degree! |

I was waaaaaaaaaaay overtired on Saturday. I was in the shop and the owner (Mark) was like, oh, something on your savers list came in. Dig through the pile. I picked up a book and stared at it for a minute before asking him what Fab-Less 58 was (heh, Fables #58). Hey, I should get a tiny break if you look at the cover... :) |
