| Bulletin: | Astrokitty Comics proudly presents: THE LAST DRINK & DRAW: LAWRENCE for the year 2007! If you haven't made it to any of these fabled events prior to this, now is the time to turn over a new leaf! We only do this thing every other month, so we won't be partying again until January 2008! What is a DRINK & DRAW? Well, it's a national phenomenon birthed from the mental loins of Dave Johnson and friends (from California way) that has spread like a particularly stalwart STD! Furthermore, it's a free event we hold locally that starts at 9:30pm and runs until 1:30am! We hold it at the Jackpot Saloon down on Mass. St. here in Lawrence, KS. and most times we have the tower of power known as DJ Furst Bass spinning some discs for ya'll all the while! Still not sure what the hell this is all about? Well, here's the deal...if you show up for the Drink & Draw you'll be able to borrow some supplies with which to get your sketch on. We use comic book backing boards and spare pieces of shipping cardboard as drawing surfaces and a motley array of pens, markers, crayons, pencils and the like are provided as well! You take these tools and draw, draw, draw! You CAN keep what you've drawn, or you can leave it in our pile before you leave...so we can scan these pictures in and put them up on our forthcoming website for the world to see! You can sign the pieces or remain anonymous! Not sure? Well, knock back a few reasonably-priced drinks to relax yourself before you put pen (or whatever) to paper (er, boards...)! We can all draw, even if it's just stick people...so come out, relax, and let go of all those reasons that keep you from drawing. I mean, you did it in kindergarten right? Though we DO want you to get in touch with your inner grade-schooler, this is an event for 18 year olds and up. The drinking part is for 21 year olds and up, of course. If you DO drink...do so responsibly and/or get a designated driver to cart your ass home if you intend on getting smashed. Finally, for those of you who need more of a motivation to come on out, know that we DO have a contest each time we do this. If you choose to be a part of the contest, you'll be able to get the THEME at the same table near the door that you'll get your SUPPLIES. The theme is usually something inappropriate or an idea that will result in pure hideousness...but also inevitable hilarity. I start the contest at the beginning of the event, but award the prize around midnight. The prize is, of course, a pitcher of beer! Woot! If you don't drink but DO win, you can let us re-gift the prize. No problem! Well, does that answer your question? Now all you have to figure out is how you're going to justify NOT coming to the DRINK & DRAW!
