Atlantis Studios Announces New Paula Peril Trilogy

Suwanee, Georgia - Atlantis Studios announced today pre-production on three live action short films adapted from its popular comic book series The Adventures of Paula Peril. The series of new films is scheduled for release in the Fall of 2008, starting with the first film, “Mystery of the Crystal Falcon”.

“We were very pleased with the popularity of last year’s ‘Trapped in the Flames’, said Atlantis president and series creator James Watson, “It was a great introduction to Paula Peril as a live action heroine, however, with these new films we hope to expand the scope of the character a little, tell more involved stories, at the same time give fans the pulp-inspired action they love!”

The film series will be cast and filmed entirely in the North Atlanta area, where Atlantis Studios is located. Newcomer Savvy Lorestani (“My Sixteenth Summer,” “The Devotion”) will direct the series, joined by many other local artists and film-makers in the overall production design.

“These are original, self contained adventures not found in the comic book,” says Savvy, “Each film will follow the overall story arc set out in the comic series, but by the time fans have seen all three films they will understand the characters in new and compelling ways. They will also meet some new characters that will have a big impact on Big City and future issues of the comic book. The films are designed to help comic fans further explore Paula’s world and prepare them for how it’s changing.”
