Header: Official Casting Announced for 'Paula Peril: Mystery of the Crystal Falcon'
Bulletin: Suwanee, Georgia - Atlantis Studios announced today that actress Valerie Perez will lead the cast of Mystery of the Crystal Falcon, the first of three live action short films to be adapted from the popular comic book series Adventures of Paula Peril, currently in production.

Perez first achieved celebrity playing video game heroine Lara Croft in the self-produced Tears of the Dragon, an ambitious Tomb Raider fan film which she produced and co-wrote. Well-known for her ability to portray strong, attractive heroines, she has posed for Femmes Fatales, appeared in numerous television and film projects, and worked as a model for famous comic book artists such as Mark Brooks (artist for Marvel Comics Ultimate Fantastic Four and X-Men Annual) and Adam Hughes (artist for DC Comics Wonder Woman). She was the first actress to play Paula Peril in the short film “Trapped in the Flames” released in March 2007, still available at www.atlantisstudios.net/paulaperil

“Valerie was a big hit in last year’s ‘Trapped in the Flames’, said Atlantis president and series creator James Watson, “Not only did the fans love her look, but she did things few other actresses would do: fighting bad guys, being tied up in a burning room, falling ten feet into a dumpster, and running from a real explosion at the climax. She’s the perfect Paula Peril!”

Perez will be joined by a stand-out cast that includes Marla Malcolm-McGuffey (2001 Maniacs, Dumb and Dumber II), Ben Lamm (My Sixteenth Summer), Perry Poston (Unspeakable), Merritt Mitchell (Fled), and newcomer David O’Donnell.

“We’ve got great talent on this project”, said film director Savvy Lorestani, “These actors will help us bring depth to these awesome characters. I’m really lucky to have them on board.”

Mystery of the Crystal Falcon is slated for Fall 2008 release.
