This story draws a parallel with an old myth or superstition in the Malay (Malaysia) culture. It is actually a story of penanggal (root word "tanggal", literally means "detached"), a type of ghost/undead that consists of only the head (variation includes head+spine, head+lungs+heart etc).

On this page, we're introduced to the main character, which I named mamatA. No background story. Just him running away from a meteor-like apparition.
