Greetings. After 25+ years as a comic book fan-atic I have never been more excited about comics as well as disappointed about comics. I have has this itch for the longest time to create my own indy title and think that I am finally ready to proceed with this goal. So if there's any artist out there looking to collaborate on something within the superhero genre (preferably in the Chicago area)please give me a shout and we can talk. I have some really cool ideas and am chomping at the bit to get off the ground.
My disapointment comes from the fact that Hispanics are not treated very well in the comics-superhero medium. More specifically in the big two; Marvel and DC. They are either a re-tead of a past character with a roman numeral attached to there name (Blue Beetle III, White Tiger IV, Wildcat II, Tarantula IXXVIV etc.) or are given a steriotypical theme or persona (El Diablo, Vibe.) Still, I can also see that most hispanic heroes are even linked in some way to criminal backgrounds and when there are some ORIGINAL Hispanic heroes created they are not used to there full potential and then discarded. Sorry, I'll get off my soapbox now, and let me say thanks for stopping by.
