Interesting. From a manga point of view I think I can see why it might not have won -- there are some great faces but from my limited perception of the form, the whole thrust of manga seems very much to focus on continuous movement, pushing the story along. Partly that's because manga has the benefit and the curse of more storytelling pages, so the artists make up for a lack of things happening by making every panel "exciting". I'd suggest that despite the fab art job, there's a an impression that the characters in this story are "standing around" which simply doesn't appear to happen in a lot of the more popular manga.

Kriffix art is great though, I'll keep a look out for more. (have you thought about doing a ROK Comic? :) )
