Here is the short, hopefully less-boring, version of who I am. I have been a comic book fan nearly all of my life. When I was a kid I wanted to draw comics, and after high school I attended the Joe Kubert School, where I quickly learned that I actually sucked as a penciller. Depending on who tells the story, I was either kicked out of the Kubert School, or I dropped out. Either way, I left the building, and was told by a person famous for drawing both Tor and Sgt. Rock that if I ever set foot on the property again the cops would be called, and I'd be thrown in the Dover, NJ jail. Dover itself was an unpleasant place, and I figured the jail was worse, so I left both the town and the school with only minor bitterness, and decided to pursue other ridiculous dreams.

Realizing I had no hope of making it as an artist, I turned to writing. In the 1990s I started publishing the pop culture magazine BadAzz MoFo. The seventh issue of BAMF included two comic stories that I wrote. The most recent issue I published was BadAzz MoFo Super Digest #3, which came out in 2006.
In 2004 I published an anthology called SOLID! featuring work by myself and several other black creators. Currently, I am the English-language writer for the Eisner-nominated manga series Tokyo Tribes.

I co-wrote The Blind Monkey Style with artist Robert Love, which appears in the PopGun Comics Anthology.
