In the world of Grand Hell and Grand Heaven, the nations are always on the verge of war due to traditional values, and not because the Queen of Hell and the captain of the Freedom Angels (Heaven's Guards) had a secret affair at one point. The result of that affair was Prince Storm, who doesn't know his father is different from that of his older demonic siblings, Prince Redd and Prince Thunder.

In the current version of the story, Prince Storm's bodyguards Wolfie and Grayson may be dead from another assassination plot by Prince Redd, present ruler of Hell of the World's Sorrows (aka Hell of Sorrows). The story restarts with Storm's Lament, where hostile Freedom Angel scouts find a bewildered and naked demon prince in the neutral lands of Purgatory.
