I'm a comic creator from New Mexico with the 7000 BC gang. I work in a variety of mediums and styles, as each project dictates, from the intricate eastern style of forever all to the immediacy of Das Comica to the thick collage of As A Man is the Event.

Currently I'm writing The Salmonilla Chronicles, which follows the childhood feud of John Boy Salmonilla and Pippy Sandpiper one year at a time, with art by the brilliant Ryk Martinez, and the upcoming graphic novel and film A Dot's Wake, a rumination on the human connection to natural cycles in the shifting climate of the near future, with art by the whole amazing 7000 BC crew. And I recently completed the art for a Raised By Squirrels story which is available both in print and online at the RBS website.

I also make handmade books, illustration, fine art, theatre, film, and indefinable lumpets. Other groups I work with include Sculan Productions and Sol Arts.

My website and company name is Belmondo Tomato.

Yeah, I noticed that. I lived in Cruces for a year way back in the day. You've got some great work posted. Give me a shout if you're ever up this way. I'm sure some of the other 7000 BC folks would love to get together too.

Hey, Jeff

Good to hear from you! I hear you folks in Santa Fe got a couple feet of snow a few days ago. Well, it gives a good excuse to stay inside and draw! (Unless you ski, of course!)

Yeah, plenty of snow. I don't know if it's the Alaska feeling or what, but I seem to be running on very little sleep lately, so the drawing has been running well into the night.

Just finished up the Reginald Squirrel Tale for those folks that ditched you for sunny New Mexico. Couriered it up to Monica and Bram in Santa Fe (I'm in Albuquerque) and it showed up 5 hours late because of the snow. Good thing I didn't try for regular mail. Our mailman just quit coming for 6 days. Neither sleet nor snow nor - no, wait, strike that. I mailed myself something recently from my own post office and it took almost two weeks to arrive.

How's the Conspiracy doing?

That's a great looking website you have.

Did you go to UNM? You and I are about the same age, so if you did we were probably there around the same time. I graduated from there in '87.

Thanks.

Yeah, I got out in '88. Fine art degree, nearly finished a theatre and writing degree as well. Were you in the teaching realm?

I got my BA in Journalism from UNM. I didn't get my teaching cert. until we moved back up north. I really miss Albuquerque at times, though, particularly December through March. :)
