Crude & Abstract Comics
I’m an independent comic book and comic strip artist and writer. I’m using myspace, youtube and comicspace as a platform for self-promotion. I adhere to a style of art, which I believe, is at least, 90% original. A combination of crude comic strip art you find in your newspaper, and abstract images. Knowing that I was not up to par with today's graphic novelists, I decided to invent my own unique way of telling my stories. I figured, if people took a look at my artwork, and I was trying to be say, Frank Miller or Joe Quesada, everyone would scoff and ridicule it. So, if people judge my work by what it is, as opposed to, what it’s not, I might have a shot at a successful career. Because in this business, just like every other money medium, it’s not what you know, but who you know. I could be the greatest artist of all time, but if I’m not properly promoted, no one cares. So I say: Hail to the independent! I’ve never been handed anything, and I don’t want to be handed anything.
