BlueThunderArmy
I'm a big dork, but I'm really good at it.
My story is that I'm an aspiring writer and editor, and I've had a nice amount of success so far. My comic-book journalism has appeared at Silver Bullet Comic Books, Newsarama, and in the print magazine Comics Buyer's Guide. I also edited and managed production for the 2006 Prism Guide to Comics, which was a huge challenge and very rewarding. Though much of my published work so far has been in the graphic storytelling arena, I also like to read and write books without pictures. I've recently started reviewing for Bookslut, a popular online magazine and blog, and have just completed the Second City Training Center writing course. My class put up a show called "Sex, Rye and Videotape," which included a Trojan War sketch of mine. Also, I'm working on a comedy novella taking place in a pizza restaurant, which is the most outlandish and potentially offensive thing I've ever written—which is saying a lot coming from the guy who wrote a play about a mother sleeping with her daughter's imaginary friend. Mostly right now, though, I'm a graduate student, which is a nice deal if you can swing it but a bit difficult to take on much else. Living in the UK for a year, we're travelling around quite a bit, as well, seeing as much of the world as we can while it's near by. ... Since most of my gigs are volunteer/low pay, I've made finding free stuff a bit of a hobby. If you'd like to support my habit, click here. Yes, it looks a bit dodgy, but I've got a Sony PSP and a few ipods out of these people... |
