Welcome to our new ComicSpace page! So I guess we'll start at the beginning. First of all this page is dedicated to our store, BRAINSTORM MOVIES, COMICS & GAMING, located at 1648 W. North Avenue, in Chicago, Illinois, 60622. Our phone number is 773-384-8721 and our email address is brainstormcomics@gmail. If you scroll down you'll find our latest newsletter. I usually post those on Sunday, but sometimes I get to it sooner.
We also have a website at www.brainstormmcg.com and our MySpace page is www.myspace.com/brainstormmcg! Brainstorm is unlike any other comic shop or video store in Chicago. Since the day we opened on October 1st, 2003, we have done everything we can to break the mold of the traditional comic shop and video rental store. And I think we've done a pretty awesome job so far. First of all, and I stress this to everyone, Brainstorm is a GEEK SAFE ZONE! By that I mean you can come in and you don't have to feel like anyone is looking at you weird. Those of you who have been with us can vouch for that...those of you who don't know us yet, come into the store and see for yourself. If you're a comic geek and you want to debate the long term effects of the DC Crisis or the Marvel Civil War or the Wildstorm relaunch of WildCATS and Gen13...great! If you're a film buff and you want to talk about the best of the 60's horror exploitation films, classic foreign films, the best zombie flick or which is better, Doctor Who or Battlestar Galactica...awesome! If you're a gamer and you get off on digging through boxes of loose HeroClix or flipping through Magic Cards looking for that one card that will make your deck unstoppable...welcome! You see, here at Brainstorm Movies, Comics and Gaming, we welcome all of you. We want you to be yourself and we won't look at you funny because of it! Thus, we are a GEEK SAFE ZONE...even if you're not a geek. Just about any comic shop you go to offers a pull service and (hopefully) the newest comics and action figures and such. So do we. But this where we break away from the rest of the pack. ALL NEW COMICS ARE BAGGED AND BOARDED BEFORE HITTING THE SHELF...FOR FREE! SUBCRIPTION SERVICE IS A FREE, NO MINIMUM TITLE COUNT PULL SERVICE! AND YOUR SUBSCRBER ACCOUNT DOUBLES AS A MOVIE RENTAL ACCOUNT! ALL SUBSCRIBERS GET 10 PERCENT OFF ALL NEW BOOKS...REGARDLESS IF THEY ARE ON YOUR LIST OR NOT! SUBSCRIBERS ALSO GET 10 PERCENT OFF ON BACK ISSUES AND ACTION FIGURES! AND IF YOU TAKE ALL THE FIGS IN A SET, WE'LL BUMP THAT DISCOUNT UP TO 15 PERCENT! FREE COMIC BOOK DAY, SATURDAY, MAY 5th, 2007 This year Free Comic Book Day is happening on the opening weekend of Spider-Man 3! That is if they don't push the date back. Which, by the time you get this they'll have changed it three times. Either way, FCBD is happening on Saturday, May 5th. And if there's anything you want held in particular, let me know. One of my goals for Brainstorm was to create someplace where everyone would feel comfortable, regardless of who they are.
