Bret
Bret Bernal here. Thanks for checking in. I'm a radio announcer, commercial and promo writer and I write comics, too.
Stay tuned for updates on my projects and to find out why some of the biggest pencillers in the world want to work with me--oh wait. I got my dream life mixed up with my real life.

Not much traction to report. Two projects floating. Following your dream is occasionally a test of patience. But if you want it bad enough, it will pay off. Success tastes sweeter if it doesn't come over night. |

HEROESCON, 2008, Charlotte. What an amazing time I had. Met so many people. (Many dudes I'm a huge fan of.) If I described all the fantabulous fun I had, you'd think I was bragging. Hot & Humid greetings to: Jonboy, Rico, Craig, Jimmy, Al, Jeff, Paul, Sanford, Mark, T-dog (Do they still call you that?), Rob, and J--the most amazing server at the Hilton. Count me in for '09. |

Very busy week. Writing a scene by scene description for a mini-series I hope to pitch soon. I contacted two artists to see if they'll participate. Both seem highly interested. (And I didn't have to blackmail either one.) If nothing else, I'd like to see at least a pin-up by the guy I've always dreamed of working with.
Also polishing off the script for the short story I mentioned in another post. Having the time of my life. May have to pay "fun tax" if the government finds out. |

Friday I spent some time on the phone with editor supreme-o, Scott Peterson from Wildstorm. He'd just returned from a trip to Barcelona. And he sounded awake!
Scott was full of great advice and information on writing, breaking into comics, and the proper way to cook an omelet. It was all super motivational. Thanks again, Scott. |
