| Bulletin: | As most of you know by now, the industry lost one of its bright stars this weekend. Mike Wieringo died of a sudden heart attack on Sunday. I never met him but I am a big fan. I visited his site enough and always enjoyed his humor and how just plain down-to-earth he seemed. His whimsical art was a major influence on a whole generation of aspiring artists. I enjoyed his work on Robin but it was his creator-owned story Tellos that I truly fell in love with. It was imaginative genius and I always hoped he would return to Tellos someday. I am really going to miss his work. Mike, wherever you are, I hope you have the wind in your hair and a giant tiger by your side. Godspeed. |
