| Header: | WWC Artist Alley Documentary Info and Filming Schedule | ||
| Bulletin: | As was stated before, CaelynTek Video Productions will be filming a documentary this year at Wizard World Chicago. This documentary will be based on the Artist Alley, it's exhibitors and it's patrons. If you are an Artist Alley exhibitor and would like to be interviewed for this documentary, you should contact me during my "Office Hours" listed below in my schedule. You do NOT have to have an Exhibitor badge to be interviewed. If you only have a professional badge but are affiliated with, or have your work displayed at an Artist Alley table, you can schedule an interview with me.If your wondering what kind of questions will be asked of you, below is a sample: Have you ever been in the black at Wizard World? (Made enough to cover your expenses) What do you think about what Wizard Charges for Artist Alley tables? What IS your primary income source? What do you do in your day job? What do you think is the best way to attract a patron to your table? What is the weirdest thing that you’ve ever seen at Wizard World? That is just a sample of the pool of questions I may ask you. Some about your comic or art business, some about your convention experience, some about your customers, etc... I of course can also take some photos or video of some of your work or products to be shown in the film. I cannot however guarantee that every interview filmed will make it into the final cut. I will however be taking down the names/company names, and url information for every exhibitor I interview, and all interviewed exibitors will be listed in the credits, regardless of whether or not they end up in the final cut. It is also possible that some interviews may be featured in youtube previews but not in the DVD. Interviews should be no longer than 10 minutes. Interview locations can vary depending on your availability. There is a rumor that I might be hooked up with the convention staff to help me out with some things. I would hope they could find me a quiet little corner to film interviews in. Barring this, I can perform standing interviews at your table, but I can also conduct the interviews at the Hyatt lobby, outside the expoteria, or other quiet locations. You can let me know your preference when you see me, and that will determine what time your interview may be. If you would prefer a seated interview at the Hyatt (or any quiet space I can find that's fitting), you will want to make sure you have someone to watch your table for that time. During the convention I will have the following schedule. Thursday: On Thursday Kaosfield Studios and I will be bringing in our stuff, leaving it at the table, and setting up our banner.. then walking the con floor ourselves. I will be filming the Kaosfield Studios staff in "walking interviews" as we walk around the convention hall.(Most likely before 4pm) After this I will be wandering around the Artist Alley talking to Artist Alley Exhibitors when the wont be so busy. (Compared to Friday and Saturday) For those that are up for it, I will be filming candid interviews at this time (Probably from 4-7 PM) I will not be at the Hyatt on Thursday night for any interviews or other activities. Office Hours: On Friday and Saturday I will be at the Kaosfield Studios Table from open of the con floor until 12 Noon. (Table numbers are not released yet). These will be my "Office Hours" during which time, if you (Artist Alley Exhibitors) would like to schedule a time to be interviewed, you can stop by and talk to me. This will also be a time when I will be signing autographs of my new Comic "Full Circle". Lunch Times: Every day of the con, I will be unavailable from 12 Noon till 1:00 for lunch break. Interviews Filming Schedule: On Friday afternoon beginning around 1:00 or 2:00 I will be out and about filming scheduled and candid interviews with Artist Alley Exhibitors. I will also be making "spot check" interviews with various patrons of artist alley. I will be available for filming interviews until 4:00 PM. At 4:00 PM I will transfer my equipment to the Hyatt lobby to conduct seated interviews until 5:30. On Saturday afternoon beginning around 1:00 or 2:00 I will again be out and about filming scheduled and candid interviews with Artist Alley Exhibitors and making spot check patron interviews. At some part during the day I will also be doing a full convention walk through using my first person camera. (For the much necessary, stereotypical fast forward convention montage) Filming will continue until 4:00 or 5:00 (or until I'm too tired to continue). At which time I will transfer my equipment to the Hyatt lobby for seated interviews. The convention floor is open until 9:00 PM! on Saturday, but I doubt I will be up for filming that late into the night. I will not be filming interviews on Sunday, unless someone talks me into it. Party Footage: On Friday and Saturday night I will be getting party footage. Most of Friday night will be taken up by the WUMBER party off site, but if you are holding a party in the Embassy suites or Hyatt and would like me to visit your party and get some of it on film, please see me during my office hours, give me the details of your party I'll try to make it, but no promises. Disclaimer: While I know that falling down drunken parties happen at Wizard World Chicago. I have no interest in filming any such parties. I don't want to get footage of people throwing up or falling down, or people acting like total asshats. I also don't want to have to worry for the safety of my equipment. If I come to a party and find it too drunk and disorderly, I will leave. Now that is not to say I don't want to film craziness... just not totally drunken craziness. Keep this in mind. Oh and... keep in mind that these times are fluid. Things happen and I cannot be held responsible if my schedule has to change. |
