| Bulletin: | A warm reception to CAG was given by Comic-Con patrons at the CAG - An Open Call for Members Nationwide panel held at the convention on July 28th. The panel discussion served as an orientation and membership drive to any and all creators that were interested in joining the Guild. "CAG has had a long history of camaraderie throughout the comic book industry," says CAG president Keith Murphey. "And San Diego is our best venue to reach out on a national level to further build our membership." The CAG panel proved to be so successful at Comic-Con that it resulted in fifteen new members joining CAG’s ranks, with almost half of that number hailing from the Southern California area. Another exciting point is that the panel led to the promise of two new CAG chapters now in the planning stages of opening in the SoCal area, in San Diego and Santa Clarita, specifically. Originally founded in New York and Connecticut, and besides the Los Angeles chapter, the Comicbook Artists Guild also currently operates chapters in Massachusetts, Nebraska and Texas. |
