Howdy howdy, I'm Jonathan Morris, a cartoonist who dabbles in this stuff primarily as a hobby.

Despite only devoting a smidge of my time to cartooning and illustration, I enjoy the hell out of it and love drawing and writing more than just about any other pursuit.

I recently moved to Redmond, Washington (just outside of Seattle) and I'm looking for cartoonists in the area who like to get together, talk shop, trade art and draw like apes!

If you'd like to keep up with my comings and goings, I usually post all my latest adventures over at my Livejournal. Better yet, you can keep up with all things Calamity Jon at my personal site, Calamity Jon, Save Us!

Thanks for stopping by, feel free to drop me a line if you'd like to say 'hi!'

Hi, how are things?

Hi, how are you? Our studio recently put a new site up. pencily.com is a great source of inspiration for illustrators, animators and designers, so I hope you find it as useful as we do!

All the best,

Kyri Kyprianou

...I heard if you bury a dead frog in a cardboard box, under a tree with a twice-twisted clockwise trunk, then wait till three days after the next full moon to dig it up, placing four smooth river stones in it's place, then Jon'll make new Jeremy comics before the next snowfall.

Or maybe that's for getting your cow off the barn.
Either way, s'true. I seen a man do it.

Thanks man! Always glad to get props for the Jeremy stuff - say, by the way, did I mention the wife and I are planning a move to the Bay Area in the next couple months? You still living in Oakland?

It's great to see Jeremy again! It's one of my favorites.

Glad to help, hoping I'll have a Jeremy collection out in the next month or so, collecting all the strips plus a buncha other previously published and unpublished stuff ...

Hey, being a huge Disneyland nerd, I LOVE your work on the Haunted Mansion. It continues to shock me that cool people actually exist in Arizona.

Well, I won't be much longer (in Arizona, anyway, I've NEVER been cool). You gonna be at the Comicon in Phoenix later in January?

Remove[ Posted by troutman on Jan 4th, 2007 3:20 PM ]...

I'm planning on it. Not sure what I'll do there, since I sincerely doubt Keenspot will have a booth, but I'll be around. Is there anything webcomic-related going on that I should know about?

I mostly just know that I need to track you down there and talk your ear off about the Mansion book. ;)

Just seen your Dalek picture on your blog.
Fantastic.

'Ey Rudi! Yeah it was, I gotta get something going for another collaborative comic - hopefully you'll be in on that one too, right?

[ Posted by bzedan on Dec 20th, 2006 1:41 PM ]...

Man, the fun thing about this is guessing how people found you.

I'm guessing most of them followed the trail of th' dead. Or they're the folks who have 3,000+ friends and just get everyone once ...

Its good to see you on here Mr Morris.
Long may you reign.

Your art is so full of life! Be careful, your drawings might pop up and walk around one day!

Hey Spike, thanks! I love Templar myself, and I gotta check out Sparkneeedle and Blikada. How do you DO all this stuff? You have seemingly discovered the 100-hour day ...

[ Posted by JimmyKitty on Dec 20th, 2006 1:11 AM ]...

Little do these people know how much a FAN I am of Jon's work.

I go waaaay back with Jon. I'm talking all the way back to the self-published, ALL MONSTER COMICS anthology - which to this day I've been influenced. Sorry Jon, I stole a few tricks from you (the reverse white lettering inside the silhouette figures, et. - which I've used in Bomb Queen.

Jon's work is simply damn cool, and you folks don't know the half of it (since he's hiding stuff from you). Speaking of.... just where is KIKU MAKES MISCHIEF? Last I saw you... you had a lovely new wife on your arm and I can't recall seeing a bigger smile on anyone's face.

Did she ever ween you off those red plaid shirts? I never understood how you wore those lumberjack shirts in godamn blazin' hot Arizona!!

Oh brother, I been off them flannels forever and a day, but luckily I've kept the lovely wife around. I'm a Big Mack Work Shirt kind of guy these days, on accounta they're relatively resistant to the all the nails and loose splinters I keep catching my damn clothes on. I am t-u-f-f on clothes.

Kiku Makes Mischief is still in the woiks, I have an artist and all I have to do is whip up the scripts. I've kind of only been dabbling over the last couple of years, because I've had a fulltime job eating up most of my time, but that and some other time-consuming froofraw is done now, so I'm working on getting my artistic act together.

First thing I gotta do is a new Jeremy book, from there everything else is gravy ...
