"Future & Past" was wistful, moving and funny.
Very beautful work, one of the best yet in my opinion.

Thanks. I didn't know if anyone "got" it. I use my wife as a gauge for how clear things are. This week she just stared at me after I finished drawing, and said, "well, it looks pretty." So, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I have to admit I only understood it properly the second time I read it. I liked it much better the second time too.

Hey Ned.
Nice to see someone we actually know on this site. Much praise on the drawingses! I know myself Flash MX can be annoying but it's results are just too appealing...

Thanks for the appreciation of our work!
I've looked at your comic there, I really like the clean, uncluttered style. Visually the characters are nicely turned out, and it's very distinctive. I will keep checking out your work.

I hope you like them.
I'm putting one of yours in the "Flash comics" section (not yet made...)

We're not ready to be exhibitors this year, but we're definitely working towards it for 2008. We definitely hope to visit this year, though!

Captain Excelsior is really funny! Lovely artwork as usual.
The characters look really well designed, too.

Thanks! You you reminded me to read the new pages of your Candleman:Inferno. I'm really enjoying it - the flash presentation is so well done it's unbelievable! Great artwork as well!

[ Posted by Candleman on Jan 23rd, 2007 4:35 PM ]...

You do flatter us, sir. We aim to please.
I e-mailed my friend Chris (who draws Candleman) to tell him about Excelsior, he'll love it too!

I'm diggin' Candleman too... awesome layout! Props.

[ Posted by Candleman to ninelives on Jan 23rd, 2007 4:28 PM ]...

I'm not usually a furry fan, but the line style in "Nine Lives" is just really lovely. I will start from the beginning soon, when I have some time set aside.
Another plus on the web site design too, very good indeed, lovely styles, minimal and effective.
You are extremely talented! Thanks for adding us!

Thank you for contributing to my mirth levels today with your latest comic strip!
Cheers!

I like your comic strips. You have a confident line - do you do animation?
The grey washes are effective, I like your lettering too.
Slowly working through the archive...

Thanks! Animation is something I'd love to do but lack the knowledge at this to do. I really think my strip would work well animated. I recently met a dude that got a degree in in it, so I've gaining his trust to see what happens. Who knows huh? Adult Swim all the way.

[ Posted by Candleman on Jan 20th, 2007 1:30 PM ]...

The book "The Animator's Survival Kit" by Richard Williams is probably the best book you can get if you want to learn. I would personally recommend a degree course, but that's not for everyone!

I'm Working on some new banners at the moment, not ready yet though. I'm making them in Flash, which works much better for them than Photoshop for me.

Great! Let me know then when they´re ready so we can exchange banners/links :)

[ Posted by Candleman to victorhugo on Jan 15th, 2007 2:19 PM ]...

Your comics are as much like a TV show as sequential art.
There are some interesting and effective little bits of animation in them. I haven't been through all of the episodes yet, so I can't really say more right now. I will watch them all eventually!
Thanks for the add.

They have a very endearing style, I like them a lot. I will keep reading them when I can.

Wow, got to keep reading Grumps!
It's well sick.

[ Posted by Candleman to sideshowmonkey on Dec 14th, 2006 4:11 PM ]...

Really amazing illustrations!
The one with the carnival goldfish man nearly made me throw up with laughter when I saw it!

[ Posted by Candleman to soupmines on Dec 14th, 2006 3:58 PM ]...

So there IS an alternative way of splitting one's sides with soup!
(Other than having it pumped down the throat under immense pressure - which, let's face it, is not nearly as entertaining.)
Love 'em, really funny.
