Hostis Humani Generis is the Roman definition for Enemy of all Mankind, generally referring to the particular status of pirates.

The story gets us on board an 18th century pirate sloop, where aspiring travel writer Michael Radcliffe takes on the role of the ship’s surgeon in order to survive. The pirate vessel is commanded by a daredevil girl of sixteen years, named Anne Bonney, who crosses cutlasses with some wealthy, powerful folks, who plot evil plans to pile up more pieces of eight than they’ll ever need.
