Pre-Painting Sketches

These are random pre-painting sketches. I'll use a clear spray paint over the pencils to protect them. Then I'll paint over with either acrylic or oil paint. I like to let the pencils show through the paint... I'm a big fan of seeing the process.

Brainwash Backfire

This story is about the overcoming of any issue that includes oppression and abuse whether it’s politics, race, sexuality, rape etc. It allows the reader to make the story personal by inserting his own experience or knowledge as the oppressive issue.

Reya Maquette

Reya is a graphic novel I'm working on for myself. I finished the concept book along with this maquette my last quarter at SCAD. The maquette is made up of a wire skeleton and Plasteline clay (oil based.) It stands 27.5 in. tall.

This is a short story I did as an assignment while attending SCAD. The basis of the story is by Dave Gildersleeve, the extra flare is me.

Michael

Michael expresses my anxieties and frustrations with the dark side of humanity such as violence and war. It's also an observation of the curious arch of human life, from innocence to fear and then back to peace with the world around you.

The Road Not Taken

"The Road Not Taken" is a poem by Robert Frost and is my favorite poem yet. This is my interpretation of its meaning.
