Small Press Idol update and request for help!!

Hi, all. I wanted to send out a blast to all my comicspace friends about the 2009 Small Press Idol competition, which I'm participating in. It's like American Idol but for Comic Book creators. At stake are a cash prize, and a 4 issue publication contract for the winning project. The contest is staged by the Small Press Association, and sponsored by a small publisher called Dimestore Productions.

My project is called "Hometown Heroes" and we're in the midst of round 2, and sitting in 3d place out of 27 total projects. We're hoping to push forward with more public votes, so I'm asking for all my comicspace friends to at least take a look at the contest and our project and consider voting for us. I'm obviously biased, but I think ours is the best!

Thank you to anyone who has already checked out the Small Press Idol forums and voted for our project. Anyone can go and vote by simply posting a reply in the forum thread for our project saying "yes" or "I vote for this project" and you can go back and vote once a day until Round 2 closes on April 30. They are trying to guage whether the projects can stir "loyal" supporters who will go back and vote multiple times, so any support you can give us along those lines is GREATLY appreciated. We've gotten great support so far, and we can't believe we're as close to the top of the list as we are. We have great friends!

To give you an idea of what your votes go towards here's how it breaks down:

In round 1, we received 3 out of 3 favorable votes from the judges, which put us into round 2, along with 26 other projects.

In round two, the judges' votes are cumulated with a public vote, and only the top 20 projects will go into round 3.

Round 3: 20 of the total field of 27 books will move on to round 3, and each project selected for round 3 will appear in the Mysterious Visions Anthology produced by DimeStoreProductions.com. Higher vote-getters get cover slots.

Round 4: Only 3 books will get into Round 4. Each of those will get a full "zero" issue published by DimeStoreProductions.com and will get nationwide distribution available to comic stores through Haven distributors.

The Winner: The winner gets a four issue limited series publication contract for their project. published by DimeStoreProductions.com distributed through Haven, prize money (over $700), and 90% of the profits from sales of the books (sales less production, distribution, and 10%).

As you can see the votes we get not only go towards us making it to round 3 but also the more votes we get the better exposure our comic gets when it appears in what ever form it ends up taking.

So if you've already voted, THANK YOU, and please go back and vote reguarly (it only takes a second once you've signed up), even if it's not every day, every vote counts. Chris and I will be eternally grateful.

THE VOTING PROCESS

1. You must be signed up at DimeStoreProductions.com to vote.
2. If you signed up and didn't get an activation email, send a mail to ian@dimestoreproductions.com and he will activate you.
3. You can vote ONCE PER PROJECT PER DAY until April 30th for Round
4. A Vote only counts if you post a "YES" in the forum of the project.
A. Go to the Round 2 link below, click on the "Click Here to Vote for
this Project" link to the right of the title(s) you would like to vote
for.
B. Click "Post Reply" after you click on the link
C. Type "YES" in the box that appears
D. Click "Reply to Thread" which submits the vote
E. Note: If you receive an error stating duplicate post or
something similar, change the wording to "YES!!!!" or put a
comment "YES, I love this project" or something so it realizes this
is a new post, not a duplicate.
