I'm a writer based in New York City. Most of my comics work tends to be sort of high-concept, but I try to keep it accessible. Beyond the comics world, I've written a couple of novels and two screenplays. Beyond writing, I'm also pretty involved in the music scene here in the city. As a matter of fact, why not zip on over to my band's myspace! It's catchy poprock, very tasty indeed. So I write, and I play, and I'm always looking for more connections. One of the great things about the comics industry is that it's still sort of a small world - but I'd like to make it even smaller. I've got plenty of story ideas, so any artists looking for a partner with whom to put a pitch together, drop me a line. Or just check out the gallery and let me know what you think!

Cockroach
The story of a man who survived a nuclear strike on New York City by living in the tunnels under Manhattan for three years. Now he's come up into the light to see what's left. A finite story - first few arcs are done. Art by John Rubio.

The Water Children
A sort of J-horror story, set around the idea of kami, Japanese spirits of... well, everything. Art by the great Allen Gladfelter.

Windows
An experiment in creating a horror short in one of the most isolated, frightening settings I could think of - a window washing platform on a New York City hi-rise. Art by the impeccable John Rubio.

Charles is one of the best as-of-yet-undiscovered writers scratching at the door of the industry today.
Once Strongman hits the public like the goodness grenade it is - my heart will swell with pride (but mostly arterial clogs) watching his rocket-like ascendancy to the apex of comicbook fame and fortune...as much as those two terms apply to comics, anyway ;)

(turns to Charles)
W-was that good, or do you want me to do another take?

Had some pretty strong interest, but ultimately I decided to wait to do it until I can really make sure the whole story gets told. I've got an OGN coming out this year from a great publisher, though. I'll post some pages soon. |
