| Bulletin: | For the comic readers of the world! http://www.eagleawards.co.uk/nominate.asp Click the pretty linkygen and vote, please. If you haven't already. Oh, and, if you are lost, I strongly recommend, because I am exceedingly biast, the following random, very talented friends of mine, and also things that I enjoyed reading myself (reasons are bracketed, like so, to help you make your decision); Favourite Comics Writer: Tony Lee (because he is Tony Lee. It is as simply as that) Favourite Comics Writer/Artist: Bevis Musson (because Bevis is lovely!) Favourite Comics Artist Pencils: Dan Boultwood (Dan is Dan. Awesomeness incarnate), Jamie McKelvie (Phonogram, squee!!!) Favourite Comics Artist Inks: Dan Boultwood, Ian Sharman (boyfriend!!! I'm not biast at aaaall...*) Favourite Comics Artist Fully-Painted Artwork: Szymon Kudranski (Markosia artist) Favourite Colourist: Ian Sharman (see above for very good reason to vote for him :-p) Favourite Letterer: Thomas Mauer (new Markosia letterer) Favourite Editor: Ian Sharman, Tony Lee... One's my boyfriend, the other is just... Well, he's Tony. You chose. I can't! Favourite Publisher: Ian Sharman (kidding!), Markosia (because they rule), TokyoPop (because they are a UK based manga publisher) Favourite Colour Comicbook - American: Civil War. Because there is no point in voting for anything else. 'Nuff said. Favourite Colour Comicbook - British: Midnight Kiss (Tony Lee's greatest achievement), Shadowmancer (also cool. Boyfriend colours it. Tony Lee writes it. "Based on the populour novel"), Starship Troopers (also Tony Lee. Best film-to-comic thing out there) Favourite Black and White Comicbook - American: Phonogram (because Ian's a big fan, and I like the guys that make it) Favourite Black and White Comicbook - British: Phonogram (as above), Tales From The Flat (because the guys that make it are losers, but I like them) Favourite New Comicbook: Starship Troopers (Tony Lee. Starship Troopers. Good combination), Phonogram (as above-above) Favourite Manga: King Hell, Little Shop Of Horrors, Priest. If you vote for Naruto I will hunt you down... (:-p) Favourite European Comics: Tintin, Astrix, XIII Favourite Comics Story published during 2006: Starship Troopers #0 Favourite Comics Cover published during 2006: Phonogram #1, Starship Troopers #0 Favourite Original Graphic Novel: The Tizzle Sisters and Erik (Tony Lee, Dan Boultwood, and that guy that did that other thing. Trust me: they're good), The Hunger (decent Markosia comic. Good fun) Favourite Reprint Compilation: Smoke & Mirror (Ian's colouring, good plot), Starship Troopers (again :-p), Mutation (Markosia goodness) Favourite Comics Character: Kitty Pryde. Because. X-23... Also because. Favourite Comics Villain: KEIRON GILLEN, KEIRON GILLEN, KEIRON GILLEN, KEIRON GILLEN. Oh, and in case you missed that, that is Keiron Gillen. Supervillian, and evil genious combination, in human form. Vote for him, or he'll hunt you down and poke you. You have been warned. I may also cry. Favourite Magazine About Comics: Wizard, Comic Buyer's Guide. Because Comic's International is evil. Favourite Comics-Related Book: Writing For Comics - Peter David Favourite Comics-Based Movie Or TV: Batman Begins, Hellboy, Heroes, Sin City, Smallville, Superman 2: Richard Donner, Superman Returns, V For Vendetta. You pick. I can't! Hm... I might chose Richard Donner's cut of SM2, actually, out of respect for Christopher Reeve and because it's awesome. Favourite Comics Related Website: The Cyberhellfire Club (Ian's site), Comic Geek Speak (because they are a bunch of cool people) Favourite Web-Based Comics: Comedity (Slam Ridley [Ian's comic] artist), or click something else randomly, because ninety percent of them rock! ROLL OF HONOUR: Ian Sharman (for the fun of it. Go on... You know that you wanna ;-p), Dave Cockrum (may he rest in peace... You should vote for him because he unfortunatley passed away this year, and is a legend in x-men), Joss Whedon (because he is Joss Whedon. Enough said), Warren Ellis (talented bloke) Comic Geek Speak Cast (nice bunch of people). |
