About Me: I'm a freelance writer, graphic designer, and former editor living in rural Maine with my remarkably patient and understanding wife, neurotic but lovable mutt and psycho cat. Since 1990, I've written numerous independent comic books in a variety of genres, including Leonard Nimoy's Primortals, Bloodthirst, Nightmark, Shadow House and the critically acclaimed crime thriller, Gravedigger: The Scavengers, illustrated by Rick Burchett. I'm the creator of the online adventure strips Femme Noir, Knight & Gale and Perils on Planet X (two of which are currently "transitioning" to print), and I do a little freelance lettering here and there. I've also authored a handful of published short stories (with more in the pipeline), and write a regular DVD review column for Quick Stop Entertainment. I've recently had the great opportunity to write stories featuring some of my favorite pop culture icons Carl Kolchak, The Spider, The Avenger and Captain Midnight for Moonstone Books, and have placed two creator-owned properties Femme Noir and Perils on Planet X at Ape Entertainment.Characters and properties I would love to try my hand at include: Conan, Flash Gordon, Ka-Zar, Dominic Fortune, Catwoman, Claw, James Bond, Star Trek TOS, Skull the Slayer, The Omega Men, Diabolik, and, of course, Batman. Ancient History:I attended the Joe Kubert School in '83 & '84, edited comic books for a couple of now-defunct companies in the 90's, was the editor & art director of the short-lived crime fiction mag Noir, and was the art director of the national tabloid newspaper Sun for several years. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Latest Stuff: Gravedigger: The Scavengers. Hi Christopher. Loved Gravedigger. Who came up with the idea of having Lee Marvin there? Great actor BTW. I remember I used to be a fan of the TV show Ballinger when I was a kid... hey! I'm not that old. It was a rerun :) |

Mr. Mills--Just got and read GRAVE DIGGER: THE SCAVENGERS. Fan-friggin'-tastic, man! Rick Burchett's work is dead on, and your story was simply intense. An especial "thank you" for not padding it with a lot of unnecessary fluff. These days, there's too much decompressed storytelling going on. "The Scavengers" had the perfect pace, and the whole project screams "pro" from beginning to end. Also lovin' the "Lee Marvin" homage of it all! I truly wish there were more books like this.
Kudos for a great job well done!
Regards,

Thanks for the kind words.
There should be a GRAVEDIGGER follow-up next year, if all goes as planned. |
