Welcome to the Comicspace home base for Comics Career Newsletter. I'm editor and publisher Kirk Chritton.

I began my career creating and publishing fan comics in the 1980's, including Plasma, an anthology title that featured early works of prominent creators, including pre-Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles art by Peter Laird.

I also wrote articles for entertainment and comics-related publications including Jim Steranko's Prevue, Comics Buyer's Guide, and Four Color Weekly.

In 1989, I launched Comics Career Newsletter, a magazine designed to help aspiring comics creators break into the field. There were 28 issues through the early 90's. Comics Career featured how-to tips, industry news, and interviews with creators and editors. The magazine featured articles by well-known creators including Dave Sim (Cerebus), Ande Parks (Green Arrow), Paul Kupperberg (DC editor), Rob Davis (Star Trek, Scimidar), and David Campiti (Innovation comics publisher).

For Comics Career, I interviewed many influential comic book creators and editors including DC Comics Executive Editor Dick Giordano, Marvel Comics Editor-in-Chief Tom DeFalco. and acclaimed artist Dave McKean.

My comics writing includes nine issues of Now Comics' Dai Kamikaze! and four issues of Adventure Comics' Velvet which I co-created with good buddy Mark Runyan. I've also written a series of mini-comics included in Sonic Drive-In kids meals.

I'm starting to get active again in the comics field. I currently have a new series in development with Mark Runyan and am in the early stages of writing a historical fiction graphic novel.
