| Bulletin: | Well, our studio has a new member: a 24" iMac, brand new out of the box and kitted out for high-end graphics work. You can see it here: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v189/crowdog66/album2/P1240017.jpg?t =1169755271 Of note about this amazing new machine: 1) The 24" screen is freaking huge, and wonderful to watch movies on (we've already tried it out). It's clear, bright, and of breathtaking resolution. 2) The sound system is LIKE WHOA! 3) The iMac took all of 5 minutes to set up. The Canon Pixma ip4300 printer we got along with it took almost 20 minutes to set up. Apple rules. 4) The iMac, which basically IS the monitor, weighs only about 27 pounds. 5) It comes with a remote, which sticks to the side of the monitor magnetically. You can control video, music, and a bunch of other stuff from across the room. 6) It shines, as George put it, "like the light of GOD!" $3000 very well spent, in my opinion. Photoshop is ripping fast on it, as is Illustrator. Hi-res video? Pffft. No problem at all. It should serve us well as our primary graphics machine for the next three or four years. |
