6th Annual Convention Awards Enters Final Days of Voting

Orlando, FL (February 29, 2008) – Voting for the 6th Annual Convention Awards, presented by Comic Book Conventions.com, will be wrapping up Thursday, March 6th.

The Convention Awards, or “Connies,” salute the best that comic book conventions have to offer, with awards ranging from “Best Comic Book Convention” to “Best Convention Sketch Artist.” While there are perennial favorites, such as the Paradise Comics Toronto Comicon and DC Comics (winning the “Best International Comic Book Convention” and “Best Booth or Display” categories, respectively, for 4 consecutive years), in 2007 the Dallas Comic Con pulled an upset by winning “Best Comic Book Convention.” “It just goes to show that if you put on a quality show and have the support of the fans, anybody can win,” said Brian Pate, owner and webmaster for Comic Book Conventions.com.

One aspect of the Convention Awards each year is a new rendition of “Connie,” the Convention Awards mascot. The 2008 Connie was brought to life by legendary comic artist Michael Golden. “We couldn’t be more honored to have Michael’s art gracing our awards,” said Pate.
