| Bulletin: | Our January Sketchbook Party in Kansas City went ever better than expected. It was a great turn out...14 artists. Fric & Frac (the tavern we met at) was fun, had great food, and they took care of us pretty well. I tried to get photos of everyone who came...but I missed two people...Chadd Keim and Anthony Oropeza. They appear in the group shots at least! I was able to complete two full drawings and two sketches at the event. When I left at 5:10...about half of the group was still sketching away...  Fric & Frac was fairly empty at 3:00 when we started, but as the evening wore on...it really filled up.  Shawn Geabhart getting warmed up.  Mark Stinson (me) looking a bit posed.  Duane Cunningham, artist and roller derby announcer...  Monte May, long-time KC comic book artist. Working on his new strip.  Kyle Strahm, consuming one big-ass burger. Kyle's about ready to flee to Mexico.  Michael Buckley was working on a drawing that's a gift for a friend.  Robert Vollrath of gRAFFITI MANTIs, doing his best to avoid trouble!  This was Michele and Jim's first local comic event. We were glad they could make it!  Dave Bryant was sketching stuff in 10 minutes it take me three days to draw.  Scott Hassler is working on his first mini-comic...a WW2 story that's a true story.  Chris Garrett, KC graphic novelist worked a bit on his epic...  Shawn Geabhart, victim of my rapier wit considers ripping my head from my body. (note: I survived the encounter.)  Chadd Keim is holding up a beer in the foreground, while Anthony Oropeza is looking into the camera from the far end of the table. I got to trade a few comics with Michele, and I gave away around 20 copies of the various CCN anthologies. I'd like to thank everyone who came. I had a lot of fun!
