GIVE COMIC BOOKS TO KIDS FOR HALLOWEEN
This is a movement to get people to give comic books instead of candy to children on Halloween night. We have no other agenda. TO COMIC FANS Hand out Comic Books Buy some quarter-bin comics and hand them out at Halloween (preferably with the address of your local comic store inside). Negotiate a discount with your retailer for buying in bulk; explain that you're giving them away for Halloween. Spread the Word Link here from your blog and tell comic book news sites about this movement. Distribute the Flyer We want you to go to your local store and ask that they put "The Top Ten Reasons to Give Comics for Halloween" flyer (rt. click and save locally - don't print from browser) up in a visible place (preferably the front door). Explain to your retailer how putting up the flyer is only to their benefit (see rationale below). TO COMIC RETAILERS Benefits from promoting this movement: - You will have more sales from the quarter bin. - More of your overstock/backstock inventory will move. - Bulk sales to comic givers will make room for new inventory. - You will have new potential customers (kids!) - Free advertisement from customers who refer your store to parents. - There is no cost to you. - There is no other agenda, hidden or otherwise. - It is only to your own benefit for you to do this. My first article on the topic was published in 2002 on "4 Color Review" (4cr - now "Kung-Fu Rodeo" and no longer available). I review comics at Ain't It Cool News, and re-published my earlier article on AICN. 2007 is the first year I've used ComicSpace for this purpose. A new article will be available in the AICN Comics Reviews on Wednesday. I have no agenda other than to get comic books into the hands of kids.
