| Header: | MangaLife/SBC up for Eagle Awards... | ||
| Bulletin: | The Eagle Awards voting is now on, and I'm really pleased that both www.mangalife.com and www.silverbulletcomicbooks.com are up for Favourite Website - a totally different audience visits the two sites, and it's the first time ever a manga website has gone toe-to-toe with the acknowledged "big boys" of comics websites. Full release follows, but please visit the site and vote! London, March 28, 2007 – Earlier this year tens of thousands of comics fans from around the world nominated their 2006 favourites in each of 28 categories. With the results finally collated, counted and ratified, voting is now open for the 2007 Eagle Awards. To vote for your candidates, simply log on to http://www.eagleawards.co.uk/vote.asp Polls close at midnight (BST) Sunday, April 22, 2007. The winners are to be announced at the Bristol International Comic Expo on Saturday, May 12 2007. The highlight of Britain's premiere comics event, the awards are to be held at Bristol's Ramada Plaza Hotel where the ceremony is to be hosted by top comedian Norman Lovett, the original Holly from Red Dwarf. The presentation is to be preceded by the traditional gala dinner. With demand for tickets always high, early booking is highly recommended. Reservations can be made through Martin 'Biff' Averre, who can also provide further details. He can be contacted via email at martin@acecomics.co.uk or by telephone on 01206 364140 (011-44-1206 364140 from North America). -------- ABOUT THE EAGLE AWARDS – Established in 1976 by Mike Conroy, the Eagles are the comics industry’s longest established awards. Acknowledged as the pre-eminent international prizes, they have been featured on the covers of leading US and UK titles across the last three decades with such diverse titles as X-Men, Swamp Thing, Preacher, 2000 AD and MAD among those proud to display the Eagle Award emblem. -------- More details on the Bristol International Comic Expo can be found at www.comicexpo.net -------- 2006 EAGLE AWARD NOMINEES Favourite Comics Writer ALAN MOORE (Lost Girls) BRIAN K.
