| Bulletin: | Daredevil: Battlin’ Jack Murdock – Now, I don’t read Daredevil, however, in one issue of this I could not wait for the next. This has been a beautiful look at Matt Murdock’s father, and I bet that by the time issue three comes around, everyone will be looking to catch up. The same thing happened with Spider-Man Reign, and it wasn’t half as good as this. Wasteland – A post-apocalyptic religious western sci-fi. Talk about your cross genre. This book has a beautifully executed fully-realized world. Nothing has sparked my interest this much since I read Dune as a young man. Now, I realize that living up to Frank Herbert is a tall order to fill, but these guys do a better job of it than Frank Herbert’s own son. Manhunter – I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again, this is the superhero book worth reading. It’s very human, very “real-world”, a lot of fun, and you find yourself just waiting for the next step in the development of this character. Plus, unlike many books, you feel some closure even when you are left hanging. Marc Andreyko does a good job of keeping you into the book without depending on big cliffhangers every issue. Faker – Now I know the first issue just came out, and a number of people have picked it up, but the rest of you should. I don’t know what is happening, and I love that about this book. I have no idea where this comic is going and that what is truly ingenious about it. Alright, that’s all I got today. James |
