I have been a writer in the industry for about 5 years now. unlike most I don't have any desire to do a creator project.

I find it more fun and interesting fleshing out and giving meat to pre-existing characters. The downside is that most of the work I've done sits in a portfolio because small publishers fold quickly.

Being a writer I've had to experiment to get my work seen. an example is at http://hedstrip.blogspot.com taking preexisting recognizable art from a top pro and cutting it up to tell a new story with visuals and add my own text.

I first had the idea when I saw black and white editions of Captain America by lee and Kirby with this great art but horribly skewed dialog about communism.

I love collaborations. They're the best part about this industry. feel free to contact me.

I'm a big proponent of experience over small moral victories. There's no reason something meaningful cannot be enjoyable and entertaining as well.

My favorite comics are: Son of the Gun; Jodorowsky and George Bess. Halo Jones, V for Vendetta; Alan Moore. IronWolf: Fires of the revolution; Howard Chaykin and Mike Mignola.

A huge fan of Rod Steiger too. No Way To Treat A Lady, Fistful of Dynamite, In The Heat of The Night. Directors Sergio Leone and George Stevens.

My Portfolio is at: Shlock Value

RE: Anyone a fan of, or even seen SIX STRING SAMURAI?

I went out and picked up this movie right after I read about the concept of the film in a magazine called 'ROCKET'. The concept appealed to me, just because of it's originality. I could see this as a comic that would work AND sell well. It's a shame that the director has not done many films after this.

I saw it in the theater when I lived in San Jose. It's one of my all-time favorites.

And it has the Red Elvises in it! What's not to love?
