Right now I am working hard on finishing the first story of the Mink/Minx, my attempt at combining the old 40's style hero's with a much more contemporary take on the super hero.
In addition to this I am working on my paintings and color studies.

Later I plan to do more Auto Bio work and some experimental comics. I'd love to combine abstract expressionist art and comics, and do some supernatural/metaphysical comics expanding on the concepts of Deadman, Spectre, Dr. Fate, and Moore's contribution to these works in his Swamp Thing annual #2 and #50.

I started collecting comics in the mid 80's. I was greatly inspired by Alan Moore's 80s works like Swamp Thing, Miracle Man, and V for vendetta. I also fell in love with Art Spiegleman, his Raw and the whole Raw crew for their artsy approach to comics. Of coarse the great R. Crumb is a favorite of mine for his skill, wild freedom, and insights into life. Love and Rockets and especially Jaime's Locas stories have been very inspirational to me for their realism, energy, and great depiction of the LA punk rock scene And finally I love Chester Brown's Yummy Fur for it's incredible surrealism and vitality! (where are you now Chester?)

Later I got into the golden age creators through the 60's and 70's reprints like Marvel's Fantasy Masterpieces and DC's Wanted and Secret Origins series.

And finally I really enjoyed the mini comics scene of the 90's. I loved Adrian Tomine's work of that time. I even got a chance to meet him while he was living in Sacramento. I also enjoyed David Lasky's mini comic Boom Boom. (hi David! Check out his sight here on Comic Space. You won't be disappointed!)
