Samples of my artwork are now available on the blog for MySpace and the Official Page. Production has began for Draven: The Vampire Chronicle! Technically, Action Adventure Comics has been around since 1997. I first started labeling cartoons with this name when I was 15 years old. I started drawing books my freshman year of high school. I would draw one book and pass it around for other classmates to read. This was the beginning of what I now do professionally. I officially founded the company on Dec 6th 2006 when I launched this page and the other three associated with it. I will be utilizing some more recent ideas as well as some of the classics from years since passed. I certainly hope anyone who was given an AAC original still has it in their clutches. I plan on going big with this company. =) Draven: The Vampire Chronicle is now available at the WebComics Nation account! I have had some controversy in other places about the usage of Draven. For any here who may need clarification, please read this. Any questions, feel free to email Me at actionadventurecomics@hotmail.com. When you see the name "Action Adventure Comics" it really catches your attention. You know right away that this is a company who delivers stories of action and adventure. "Action Adventure" also encompasses an entire genre of comics. So, why can't a company based on that very concept do the same? There are hundreds of thousands of independent artists out there trying to make their dreams a reality. I want to help others like myself see their dreams come true. So, I am pleased to announce that Action Adventure Comics is taking the dive into the publishing market. If you or someone you know has an "Action/Adventure" story they really want to see hit the presses, contact us and let us know. I won't be disclosing the exact terms of said publishing offers here, so please contact us if you really want to do this. I will return the email with the details of what we will do for you in terms of marketing/publishing/producing/advertising/etc. Spread the word! Draven: The Vampire Chronicle One of my biggest influences in the comic industry is James O'Barr, and you'll see why if you are familiar with his work. The story takes place in my hometown of Dixon, IL. This means that all the buildings, street corners, shops and landscapes reflect actual places in this town. The main character, Draven(one name, no first or surname), is loosely based on myself. He was once a man of his own. An atheist, he was struggling with the idea of marrying his religious fiancee. One night he gets into a car accident after hitting a man. The man, a vampire, bites our main character and bestows upon him his title, Draven. Throughout the story he struggles to find his identity. He battles his own demons as well as the demons whom he is forced to lie with as a result of his new lifestyle. It eventually unfolds into a vengance tale. It is laced with all kinds of dark and religious undertones. I consider myself dark, yes. But I am not a religious man. It is moreso there for flavor than anything. I don't want to reveal much more than that for now. You'll just have to check out the WebComic. =P You can now purchase original stills of Draven: The Vampire Chronicle here. With regard to Vampirism... I am a Vampire. I am a loyal member of the Temple of the Vampire. I aspire to be worthy in the eyes of the Undead Gods Who rule the Temple. They expect me to not advocate or involve myself with crime or physical blood drinking. They view blood drinkers as self-deluded at best and mentally unbalanced at worst. Crime is commonly associated with such practices and is therefore rejected by Them They view crime as a confession of personal weakness. They view mere “energy” drinkers as incomplete. True Vampirism requires the completion of the Lifeforce Circuit with the Undead Gods. Anything less is meaningless and ephemeral in its value. The Temple is unique. This is the only true Vampire religion in the world. The Temple of the Vampire remains the only authorized public access to this religion. www.vampiretemple.com is the only authorized Temple internet connection. The Temple does not recognize any other person or organization claiming to be Vampire. Do not be fooled Copyright © 2007 Temple of the Vampire Another project underway Cytopia This is a futuristic story that takes place in suburbia of the late 21st-22nd century. In this time period, cybernetics and technology run rampant. Homes, offices and even vehicles are fully automated. People are equipped with cybernetics for augmentation and for health restoration(i.e. artificial organs to replace damaged ones). Of course, this also leaves room for the Black Market trade of cybernetics and automation. Artificial Human Companions are available at the drop of a hat to those with the right money. Our central character is an old time cop who doesn't buy into technology. However, years of hard living are catching up to him. Enter the plot twist. His health will eventually go for the worse, resulting in the police force having to augment him. He becomes what he has always despised and this changes his work ethic to the dark side.... Death Force This is a blast from the past for myself and my high school chums. This is where I really got started with comics. The story is about a band of super heroes who fight crime in the Windy City area(I grew up in Illinois, remember?). Each character has some form of super power that was bestowed upon them, either by freak accident or by birth 'defect.' This book has a slight X-men influence to it by the setup of the groups. The villains in this comic are evil, intelligent and wicked. I pull no punches. This book will definitely be geared for mature audiences. All of my work is, actually. Even when I was drawing this at age 15, I was depicting that side of reality you rarely see on the news and most often see on rotten.com. This book is where my McFarlane/Lee influence comes into play. The bloodshed and cruelty inflicted upon the world reflects the twisted reality depicted in Spawn type books, while the good guys depict a very Lee-esque code of ethics. My brother will be most pleased at the return of this book. =D I am a fan of the anti-hero, so don't be surprised if you see quite a few badasses show up in my books. >:) It's like Ash said in Army of Darkness, "Good, bad. I'm the guy with the gun." Well, the .com is up. I will be sure to include profiles of my characters complete with stills when I can. I may even include some on my Webcomic. Until then....
