In years past Drew has been a poet, a stand-up comedian, a school teacher, and a corporate stooge. He's currently a freelance comic book writer living in New York City.

ArchEnemies is Drew's first published comics work. First released by Dark Horse as a four-issue mini-series in 2006, ArchEnemies tells the story of superpowered archenemies who don't realize that they're roommates in their secret identities. Drew writes the series. Comics veterans Yvel (JLA) Guichet and Joe (X-Men) Rubinstein provide the art.

The great J.M. DeMatteis has called the series "a book to watch." Aint It Cool News proclaims that ArchEnemies is "funny" and "unique." BrokenFrontier.com declares the series "a deviously twisted tale... with more layers than a wedding cake." And fellow comics scribe Jay Faerber lauds ArchEnemies as "one of those why-didn't-I-think-of-that ideas that succeeds on every level!"

The complete graphic novel is available now. That's 105 pages of story and 20 pages of kooky special features for only $12.95!

Hey, Drew, congrats on the AE trade! Was wondering... is the book kid friendly enough to be included in a middle school library?

Probably not, no. There's some sexual content (pretty mild, but it's still there) in chapters one and two.

[ Posted by Cinar on Jan 5th, 2007 7:10 PM ]...

looks like I gotta check your series :)

How in the world can someone who calls themselves a freelance writer actually afford an apartment in the city? Are you selling your body, or perhaps your bone-marrow? Or is it possible that you don't actually have an apartment but have instead pitched a tent in the men's room at Penn Station?

I mean, I was living on ramen and PBJ to afford an apartment in ALBANY until recently. What the hell?

I spent most of 2006 just writing. Recently, I've had to take on a side/day job. I was going to sell my body instead, but no one was buying.
