Who is this frikkin yahoo?

Born in Ohio in the early 1960's I crash landed in Maine sometime around 1965. The son of a U.S. Marine turned blacksmith father and an anti-war activist mother, my life was started as it was destined, moving in several directions at once, I now have an inherent distrust of the government while at the same time I can punch a hole through the 10 ring at 1000 yards with a .30 Springfield 1903A3 and an Unertl 8x scope. Don't worry, I'm stable. Mostly.

I've done work for a number of studios, software and gaming companies including covers for Lucas Film and licensing work for DC Comics. Currently I work as a DC Comics artist and as a full time police officer, GPD Badge 309, and live in central Maine, USA, Earth, SOL, NGC 4414.

I also have a thing for Drambuie, Tequila, decent cigars, tattoos, German, girls, Shakespeare and Tom Waits. Not in that order, figure that trail out for yourselves.

Blood, Fire, Steel, Death©

These were a quick treatment for a convention a couple of years ago. The story style has changed greatly since that point [much MUCH darker] but hopefully one can get an inkling of what I was trying to do at the time.

WOW! Just WOW! "Ghost" looks fantastic. I can't wait to see more.

Wow, that's is some extremely excellent work! Much better than the cheesy rendering from my talking dinosaur comic. I'm severely humbled and chastised. I do recognize some of Koz's hair...but I don't think that is going to help me. But, really, this is great work.

I see from Wikipedia that you were born in 1961, like I was, so now I feel even worse. I did live in Maine, though! For one year, which, also gets me no where.

Ack! I forgot. I really like your section in "Secrets of Poser Experts." Again, very, very good stuff.

Those are great! And of course, I've heard them... some repeatedly. The first one that actually shocked me I didn't see on your list, though. Heard in the Biddeford Wal-Mart from the mouth of a woman in her late 60's/early 70's: "Oh, I need to buy a new one of those. My last one $#!+ the bed." O_o Well, you could have dropped me with a feather...
Oh, and the comment about Maine's anatomical place in the continental U.S. in reference to weather...

There are so many to keep up with.

Enjoy your new state, if you get up towards Gardiner, just find the police department, I'll be there.

Thanks
Daniel

PS Be sure to read what I do in the Bio, I'm not in the police department because I'm locked up... ;)

Hey! Thanks for the invite! Being a new(er) Mainer, maybe you could teach me the catch phrases and Maine-speak I need to know to pass as a mortal in this state? Or, would I even want that? =

Hey there. :)

Let's see..

Wicked = very nice.

Ah-VA! = I caught you doing something rather naughty.

Saying "yup" 3 times while breathing in. Generally used as an answer to a rhetorical statement.

"I'm tellin you", added to the end of a statement for emphasis. - "I seen Bob's new truck and she's some wicked sharp,...I'm tellin you."

"about as sharp as...[insert dull object here]". - Used when describing a less than stellar individual. - "Cary's sons' a good boy but he's about as sharp as an Elm tree."

"I'm just sayin..." added to the end of a statement as an escape hatch in case your called on the carpet for saying it. "Pete's not the sharpest tool in the shed...I'm just saying".

That should get you started, hope it helps.

Thanks for the note :)

Daniel

It was meant to be a word play at first, but I loved it too much and I named myself that way.
