I'm a US soldier currently serving in Afghanistan. I've been a die-hard comic book reader since I was nine. The only problem is, you can only get comics in Afghanistan via mail, so thanks to my loving wife of 8 years, I haven't went ballistic. Most people don't realize the definition of 3rd World poverty until you see it first-hand, which I have. It truly is a shame that such a beautiful country is riddled by such poverty and violence. Unfortunately, that's the way of the world, and the reason I love to step into another world when I read. Nothing quite takes me away from this constant struggle quite like reading about how others deal with pertinent issues within themselves. I'm not an Army shrink, I just might sound like one( sorry ) .
